Suicide Prevention for the Real World
A practical training session designed to help people feel more confident responding to someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Practical, human-centred suicide prevention and bereavement training — for anyone in a position to help.
Most training tells you what to do. This helps you understand why — and gives you the confidence to actually do it.
People feel unprepared — not unintelligent. The gap most of us face isn't a lack of willingness to help; it's a lack of confidence in knowing how. The Gentle Line exists to close that gap.
Our approach is reflective and discussion-based. We don't do box-ticking or tick-sheet interventions. We create space for real conversation, honest questions, and the kind of learning that sticks — because it's been thought through, not handed down.
This training is for professionals, volunteers, and community members alike. If you're in a position to help — whether that's as a teacher, a nurse, a colleague, or a neighbour — we're here to help you feel equipped, not just informed.

A three-module programme exploring the impact of suicide bereavement and building the confidence to support those affected with sensitivity and care.
A two-day, in-person workshop that equips participants with the skills and confidence to intervene and support someone having thoughts of suicide.
“This session gets people talking who would never normally bring it up. It felt safe, unhurried, and genuinely useful — not like ticking a box. I left feeling like I actually could do something if I needed to.”
“I came in thinking I understood grief. I didn't — not this kind. Module 1 gave me a completely different lens on why people affected by suicide bereavement can struggle to find the support they need. Quiet, powerful training.”
“The section on stigma and shame was eye-opening. I work in a statutory service and had never fully understood why so many families don't come forward. This module changed the way I approach every conversation now.”
“The scenario-based learning in Module 3 was where everything clicked. Having space to actually practise the words — not just talk about what you'd say — made all the difference. I finally felt prepared rather than just informed.”
